About

COLAB 2021 will focus on the power of ideas, initiatives, and best practice to make a difference and drive change within our community. We have secured some amazing workshop presenters who will share ideas, strategies, and journeys based on inquiries and actions connected to our three Achievement Challenges.

There will be three breakout sessions framed by Keynote speakers Dr Judith Locke -Author of the Bonsai Child and Dr Tony Fernandez - psychiatrist, sleep specialist, and Winner of the NZMA for his work on the Science of Happiness.

The breakout sessions include a range of workshops and facilitated discussions. We encourage you to browse the abstracts for each and make your choices. Teacher-led workshops are generally limited to 25 people and the workshops led by Dr Judith Locke will be capped at 70. Please browse the abstract selection list to ensure your workshop choice is relevant to your interests and/or teaching sector. We encourage you to attend a mix of both workshops and facilitated cross-sector discussion throughout the day.

The facilitated discussion topics have been chosen based on feedback from leadership teams in all schools. These will be guided conversations that allow teachers from across the learning pathway to connect with one another over areas of passion to establish ways we can build further capacity in these areas. We anticipate that these groups will be an ignition point for further collaborative groups beyond COLAB.
